Concrete actions
Long before the creation of SALVADOR in 2025, our commitment to supporting local talent was already in motion. As early as 2020, we began engaging with and promoting the creative voices of our region.
Our first initiative was an exhibition by the celebrated local artist Margarida Botelho, a renowned painter from Santiago do Cacém and respected street artist (Penedo Gordo, 2023). The event marked a milestone for Melides: more than 100 guests attended, and the response was overwhelmingly positive — 65% of the collection was sold. Among the attendees was British artist Jason Martin, who commissioned six pieces, captivated by Guida’s extraordinary talent.
In 2025, we are proud to present at our Melides offices a new chapter in this journey: nine original works by Matías Bach, a photographer born in Argentina and quickly gaining international recognition. His debut European exhibition in Vienna (2024) received high praise from some of the most discerning art critics.
In July 2025, Matías will unveil his first series of Alentejo-inspired works —a celebration of landscape, light, and life—exhibited exclusively in our Melides space.
At SALVADOR, we believe in action, not abstraction. Our support for the arts is not symbolic—it's concrete, visible, and ongoing
